Venue screen
A TV at the venue with the ticket QR, how it works, the cash desk and the menu.
The venue screen is a page to open on a TV at the event. It shows a large QR that opens the guest's ticket, explains how to use it and shows what is on sale. Anyone who can edit the event sets it up.
Set up the screen
- Open the event and choose Venue screen. It is also on the Kitchen page, next to the Pickup display.
- Press Copy link, or press Open. The link is
festivio.it/schermo/followed by the event's address. - Open the link on a computer connected to the TV with an HDMI cable, or in the browser of any large screen.
- Press a key for full screen.
While the page is open the screen stays awake, in browsers that allow it. On a screen taller than it is wide, the page switches to a portrait layout.
Settings
On the same page:
- Card payments on your own POS: turn it on if you charge cards at the cash desk on your own terminal. The screen then lists card among the cash desk payments.
- Announcement: one line, at most 60 characters, for example "Last call at 2:00". During the event it is the first slide, also on the cash desk's customer screen; before the event it comes after the poster. Under the field there are three ready lines to tap; with text in the field, Remove announcement shows too.
- Menu on screen: one switch per item. A Hidden item does not appear on the screen.
Then press Save changes.
Items appear in the order they have in the event editor (see Items and tickets).
What the screen shows
The QR sits on the left and never moves. If the guest has a ticket for the event, the QR opens it, in the app or on the website. Otherwise it opens the event page, to buy or order.
On the right, the slides change about every 10 seconds (13 for a long menu):
| Slide | When it appears |
|---|---|
| The announcement | When you wrote one |
| How it works: the guest's ticket beside the three steps (open your ticket, show it at the bar, show it at the cash desk to buy), which light up one at a time | Always |
| Order from your phone | While online sales are open |
| Menu: packs, drinks and extras, food | While there are items on sale; entry tickets do not appear |
While a cash desk is open (a cash desk page for the event, open and connected to Festivio), Show it at the cash desk says how to pay: Pay by card or cash, or Pay in cash. Card appears only if a phone with Tap to Pay on iPhone is paired with an open cash desk and connected, or if you turned on Card payments on your own POS. To open a cash desk, see Cash desk.
A sold-out item drops off the menu by itself.
More than 2 hours before the start the QR leads to the tickets and the slides are the poster with the day, time and place, the Tickets on sale, How it works and the menu. The event's name is never cut: a long one gets smaller. After the event ends it shows This event has ended.
If the connection drops, the screen keeps showing what it had and updates itself when the connection returns. After 5 minutes without updates it stops saying how to pay at the cash desk.
