When sales close
When online sales, the cash desk and the staff stations close.
Online sales cover purchases on the website and in the app, preorders paid at the cash desk, payment links sent from the cash desk, and free orders. By default they close when the event ends.
Choosing when they close
In Edit event, on the Commerce tab, under Order rules, Online sales close has three choices:
| Choice | When online sales close |
|---|---|
| When the event ends | At the event's end time. This is the default. |
| At a set time | At the date and time you pick, in the event's time zone. It can be before or after the end, but after the start and at most 30 days after the end. |
| Don't close automatically | Never by time. Setting the event back to draft stops online purchases and preorders; the cash desk and payment links keep working. |
Under the choice you see when online sales close and when the cash desk closes.

What buyers see
- If sales close before the end, the event page says Online sales closed. With pay at the cash desk on, it adds Tickets on sale at the cash desk.
- Once the event is over and sales are closed, the page says Event ended.
- If sales stay open after the end, the page says until when, for example Orders open until 23:00. With At a set time the event stays in the events list until that time. With Don't close automatically it leaves the list at the end, but anyone with the link can still buy.
"Order more" on the ticket follows the same close.
Cash desk and staff stations
The cash desk, the scanner and the kitchen stay open until one day after online sales close, which by default is the end of the event. If online sales close before the end, the day counts from the end. With Don't close automatically the cash desk never closes by time, even with the event back in draft.
A ticket's sale end
Each ticket can have its own Sale end date (see Items and tickets). The earlier date wins: a ticket never sells past the event's close. If a ticket's date is after online sales close, the ticket form says so.
